Creating an e-mail account in Light Mode:

If you selected Lite Mode when you installed Eudora, you will not be able to access the dominant e-mail account's properties by right clicking in the Personalities window; the properties option is grayed out.  Eudora only allows one e-mail account in Light Mode and you can only access the properties through Options.

The following tutorial explains how to edit this mode.

On the Toolbar, click Tools and select Options from the drop-down menu.

The Options window appears.

In the left-hand column, highlight Getting Started.

Real name  =  Enter your name.
Return address  =  Enter your e-mail address.
Mail Server (Incoming)  =  The Incoming (POP3) mail server usually follows this format:  mail.ispname.com (or .net).  Replace the "ispname.com (or .net)" with your ISP's name. Login Name  =  Enter your e-mail username (everything before the @). SMTP Server (Outgoing)  =  The Outgoing (SMTP) mail server usually follows this format: mail.ispname.com (or .net).  Replace the "ispname.com (or .net)" with your ISP's name.
Select the option Allow authentication.

In the left-hand column, highlight Checking Mail.

Select the option Save password.

In the left-hand column, highlight Incoming Mail.

Server configuration  =  Select the option POP.
Authentication style  =  This should be set to Passwords.

Click the OK button to close the window.
